Module Level 1- One Point Perspective Pt 3

Drawing Cubes above and below the Horizon line
What is important to remember is that the Horizon line, on which the vanishing point sits, is your eye level. So when a plane sits below the horizon line, we will see the top of an object, and when a plane sits above the horizon line, we can see the bottom of an object. Let’s give this a go.

Step 1
By now, all these steps should look familiar to you. The only thing different here is the placement of our planes (Shapes). So let’s now place your plains at the four corners of your page.

Step 2
You know the rest. Let’s get those construction lines and other shapes in place.

Step 3
Draw the perspective plains in the distance.

Step 4
Now that everything is in place, it's time to erase the construction line you don’t need.

Step 5 - Render (Add colour or shading) to your shapes.

Let’s render the 3D objects to give them some character.

Task
On a separate sheet of paper, be sure to practice your one-point perspective, try and challenge yourself and create some complex shapes. Share it online with the hashtag #EkaPerspective.

Conclusion
You’re on your way to reaching the next level. Until next time, keep collecting that XP.
