Module Level 1 - One Point Perspective Pt 2
Now that we have covered the basics of creating construction lines in our first lesson let’s draw our rectangular/ square shapes on the left and right sides of the vanishing point.
Step 1
Draw 2 plains on either side of the vanishing point.
Step 2
Like before, draw your construction lines converging from the vanishing point to the 4 corners of each shape. Remember, these are the edges of a shape.
Step 3
Draw the shapes closest to the vanishing point using the construction lines, creating a smaller plain.
Step 4
Now let’s erase that construction line and reveal our shapes.
Step 5 (Optional)
Again I’ve just added a bit of colour for fun to give my shapes more visual cues.
Activity
OK, same as before, use the technique we’ve just learned! To produce the above shape, use a light grey Copic marker (or any other kind of marker) to draw your construction lines on your sheet of paper. Outline the shape with a black fine-liner, marker or pen. For rendering, shade each surface of your shape to give it that extra depth.
